It has been my privilege to have spent the last 26 years of my professional life working in the non-profit sector with organizations whose missions were dedicated to important causes. From creating and sustaining family friendly television programming, to encouraging and building conservative grass roots citizen's action, to leading a Forbes Top 200 charitable organization, the experience has been rewarding.
Although my role has varied, in each case the greatest successes have been achieved by a team of dedicated and talented professionals. In the world of cause driven action there is little room for individual “super star” heroics. Any long lasting impact is ultimately made by a group of like-minded team players who focus their talents and skills on a common cause.
My goal is to share in that type of success and continue to see significant results from the team's endeavors. Through the years, I have seen dramatic changes in the methods in which we communicate. But the fact is we haven’t seen anything yet. Mobile communications and the social media revolution is changing the way we connect. Leadership needs to apply breakthrough thinking and exercise acts of courage in order to continue to be in a position to make a difference.
